Subdivision Plat Records

Plat Requirements

(that go thru Commissioners' Court)

               1.  Each plat must contain original signatures of the Landowner/Developer and the Surveyor (Landowner/Developer signature must be notarized). There must also be a place for the Commissioners Court to sign, the County Clerk’s recording date, recording information, and the County Clerk’s signature.

         2.  All Plats or Replats must have attached an original Tax Certificate from each taxing unit with jurisdiction.

                 Property Code Sec. 12.002.  SUBDIVISION PLAT. (e)  A person may not file for record or have recorded in the county clerk's office a plat, replat, or amended plat or replat of a subdivision of real property unless the plat, replat, or amended plat or replat has attached to it an original tax certificate from each taxing unit with jurisdiction of the real property indicating that no delinquent ad valorem taxes are owed on the real property. If the tax certificate for a taxing unit does not cover the preceding year, the plat, replat, or amended plat or replat must also have attached to it a tax receipt issued by the collector for the taxing unit indicating that the taxes imposed by the taxing unit for the preceding year have been paid.

         3.  Required Plats: (EACH PLAT LISTED BELOW, MUST CONTAIN ORIGINAL SIGNATURES)

                   (1) 8 1/2 X 14 (Black Line) for Official Public Records.

                   (1) Mylar Plat for Plat Records. (no smaller than 18x24 and no larger than 24x36)

*Any extra plats to be returned to the customer signed and file stamped need to be provided at the time of filing and will be returned with a receipt after recording of the plat.

4.  The County Judge and all Commissioners that attend court that day MUST sign each Plat before it can be filed in the County Clerk’s Office.

         5.  FILING FEE:

$50.00 per named plat

Official Public Records Filing Fee for the 8 ½ X 14 - $15.00 for the first page and $4.00 per additional page.

EX:  1 page plat $65.00

           2 page plat $69.00

       1.  Each plat must contain original signatures of the Landowner or Developer, City Official(s) that are signing for the city, and the Surveyor (Landowner/Developer signature must be notarized). There must also be a place for the County Clerk’s recording date, recording information, and the County Clerk’s signature.

  2.  All Plats or Replats must have attached an original Tax Certificate from each taxing unit with jurisdiction.
