Waller County Court-at-Law Two
has the general jurisdiction of a Texas District Court AND a Texas County Court-at-Law.
Effective January 1, 2025, ALL family law cases, including juvenile law cases will be heard in County Court-at-Law Number One. If all parties and their attorneys wish for a family law case to remain in County Court-at-Law Two due to issues of judicial economy, prior extensive hearings before Judge Mathis, etc. then they should file a joint motion to retain the case in County Court-at-Law Two prior to 12/31/2024. Absent unanimous agreement, all cases will be transferred to County Court-at-Law One so that Judge Mathis may begin hearing criminal cases.
Effective January 1, 2025, ALL misdemeanor cases and some felony cases will be heard in County Court-at-Law Number Two.
MOST civil law cases filed with the District Clerk, or the County Clerk will still be heard in County Court-at-Law Number Two.
Uncontested probate cases will still be heard by Judge Trey Duhon in the Constitutional County Court of Waller County.
Contested probate cases will be heard in County Court-at-Law Number Two.
